The World Bank Carbon Financing Unit

The World Bank Carbon Finance Unit (CFU) uses money contributed by governments and companies in OECD countries to purchase project-based greenhouse gas emission reductions.

Community Development Carbon Fund

Part of the World Bank's CFU, the Community Development Carbon Fund provides carbon finance to small-scale projects in the poorer areas of the developing world. The fund supports projects that combine community development attributes with emission reductions to create "development plus carbon", and will use financial innovation to improve the lives of the poor.

The Carbon Trust (UK)

The Carbon Trust is an independent company funded by the British government. Its role is to help the UK move to a low-carbon economy by helping business and the public sector reduce carbon emissions and capture the commercial opportunities of low-carbon technologies.
